シェルスクリプトでPythonスクリプトの実行を待つ方法は？

別のルートパーティションをマウントし、Pythonスクリプトを使用してgrub.cfgファイルを編集し、パーティションを再マウント解除したいと思います。 Pythonスクリプトが完了するのを待ってパーティションをマウント解除する準備ができているかどうかを確認する方法は？現在待機を試してみましたが、問題は解決されませんでした。
