i3statusのi3wmミキサーコントロール

ターミナルセッションで実行しbindsym button4 exec amixer -D pulse sset Master 5%+てbindsym button5 exec amixer -D pulse sset Master 5%-ボリュームを調整できます。ただし、次のようにi3の設定にコマンドを追加すると、

i3wmユーザーガイドの構文をミラーリングしています。

私が見るには構文が正確で、2本のbinsymラインがなくても問題がないので問題があるようです。ステータスバーをスクロールしながらボリュームを調整できるようにするには、この問題を解決するにはどうすればよいですか？
